Apprenticeships: Employer & Workplace Training

An Apprenticeship is a qualification completed by employees in the workplace.  Apprentices learn whilst working and so develop skills and knowledge useful to the business.

Apprenticeships offer many benefits to employers; they can make your organisation more effective, productive and competitive by addressing any skills gaps within your workforce directly and training up keen new employees to your chosen standards.  Many Apprentices are eligible for full or partial funding, therefore eliminating training costs for the employer.  For further information about eligibility and funding for workplace training, please contact us, using the contact information opposite.

Apprenticeships are designed to raise the competency and performance of employess within their job role. There are 4 elements that make up an Apprenticeship:  An NVQ/SVQ is the major component, which involves building up a portfolio of evidence of tasks completed in the workplace;  a Technical Certificate which provides industry-specific knowledge to support the NVQ/SVQ;  Key Skills which cover essential workplace skills in Communication, Application of Number and for some Apprenticeships, Information Technology;  Employment Responsibilitiesand Rights (ERR) which covers knowledge of the rights and responsibilities of an employer and employee.

There is a wide range of Apprenticeship frameworks available across a variety of industry sectors and optional units within the qualification allow employers to tailor the qualification to their specific business requirements.  To see our current accredited list of Apprenticeships on offer in England please click here and for Scotland please click here.

Currently over 130,000 employers in England alone are offering Apprenticeships to new and existing staff and 80 percent of consumers favour using a company which takes on Apprentices.  There is bound to be a place for a new Apprentice in your organisation or an opportunity to offer existing employees an Apprenticeship!

Rewards also provides a low-cost recruitment and training service to match employers' vacancies with individuals who are seeking the opportunity to become Apprentices within businesses such as yours.  Please follow this link for further information.
