Apprenticeships: Training At Work

What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship is available to employed people and involves completing training at work.  It is job related and nationally recognised.

It is made up of four parts – a national vocational qualification, a technical certificate, key/functional skills and employment responsibilities and rights.

The qualification is achieved through completion of a set of industry tasks to a required standard. A qualified assessor will visit the workplace regularly to assess, record and evaluate these tasks. Proof of capability can take many forms but the basis of the qualification is the collection of evidence to show competence which the assessor will evaluate.

Apprenticeships can take anything from 9 to 24 months to complete.

Please click here to see a list of available Apprenticeships on offer at Rewards in England and here for Apprenticeships offered by Rewards in Scotland.

What are the benefits?

Who can apply?

Generally Apprenticeships are available to all individuals aged 16+ who live in the UK and who are not currently enrolled on any other full-time education course and who are employed.  Rewards can help you find work.

Some Apprenticeships have specific entry requirements like a Maths GCSE grade A-D.

Rewards team can offer help and advice about entry requirements and job suitability.  The key thing is  enthusiasm and commitment.

Rewards also offers a recruitment and training service to help unemployed individuals who wish to become an Apprentice to find an employer.  Please follow this link for more information.

In 2007 more than 110,000 individuals in England alone completed Apprenticeships.  So whether you are just leaving school or college, have been working for some time or are looking to change your career direction, an Apprenticeship may be just what you are looking for.  Contact us to "Reap the Rewards of Training".
